Reverend Dr Joseph Gunalan Thiagarajah was called to rest on 7^th April 2018.  He was a son of late Mr. R.K. and Mrs. L.C. Thiagarajah; loving husband of Vasanthy, affectionate father of Lydia Chellam; brother of Shanti Jegasothy, Joyce Rajasekaram, Dr Ruth Rajkumar, Bishop Dr Daniel Thiagarajah, Christy Thayalan,  Dr Stella Mather & Azariah Samuelraj. He was brother-in-law of Rev. Dr John Jegasothy, late Mahilrajan Rajasekaram, A. Rajkumar, Dr Thayalini Thiagarajah, Sakunthala Thiagarajah, Rev. Betram Mather & Vasuky Samuelraj and uncle of James Jegasothy, Edward Jegasothy, Peace Segarajasekaram, Rev. David Rajasekaram, Paul Rajkumar, Lydia Gitanjali, Dr Anjaline, Luke and Sam.

His remains lie at  AF Raymonds parlour on Wednesday, 11^th April 2018 from 10.00 a.m and at his residence at 19 Kaudana Gardens, Dehiwela from 9.00 am on 12^th April 2018 before it is taken to JDCSI Church, 17 Frances Road, Wellawatte at 12.00 noon. Funeral service begins at 3.00 pm and burial afterwards at Christian Section, Kanate Cemetery, Borella.
